Chris has over a decade of experience working in the construction industry. After 4 years in the Australian Defence Force, followed by his time as a restaurateur, Chris completed his apprenticeship and set about mastering his trade in construction. Over the years as his passion for designing and building grew, he set off on his own resulting in the creation of CMG Building and Design in 2017.
Chris’ previous experience in the restaurant industry gives him a unique perspective on some of the challenges faced in building and design. Succeeding in a high pressure environment taught Chris the importance of leadership, problem solving and exceptional customer service. The cornerstone of CMG Building and Design is delivering quality work on time, every time, within budget, all the while utilising substantial materials that are proven to last.
There’s no job too big or too small. Chris is enthusiastic to meet any project head on and make your vision a reality. Through Chris’ passion for his trade and his commitment to excellence in every circumstance, CMG Building and Design has developed a great reputation with many happy clients throughout South East Queensland.
Director of Operations & Marketing
Ali Schaefer was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA where she excelled as a state MVP soccer player and honor scholar. Ali attended The Pennsylvania State University and graduated with honors, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a specialisation in film. As a varsity soccer player at Penn State, she was named to the All Big Ten First Team as a midfielder and as an academic All American. Ali’s favorite collegiate memory is scoring the game winning goal in double overtime to clinch the Big Ten title.
After college, Ali went on to travel the world playing professional soccer, residing in Sweden, Finland, Israel, and Australia. With travel to 35 countries under her belt, she learned how to adapt to new situations and connect with the people around her.
During Ali’s final year as a professional athlete, she earned her Masters degree in Screen Production at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. She joined CMG Building and Design in 2019 as their Director of Operations and Media Marketing. Her creative ingenuity has sparked the visibility of this growing company by developing social media platforms, a sleek new website, and comprehensive photo coverage of their favorite projects.
